Peter Claes

Born in 1971 as a son in a musical family, with his parents owning 2 music shops in Belgium, he was submerged in music day in-day out. When he was 7 years old he started his musical education completing a 9 year course as a piano player. At his 18th, after a few succesfull stints of playing keyboards in local bands he deciced that becoming a sound engineer was his life goal. Then it all went quick and 30 years later he can look back at an awesome carreer. Working for the biggest bands in Belgium and International acts gives him a well deserved reputation as being "one of the best" in Belgium.
During those years, a lot of gear has been accumulated, gear that is well maintained and ready to use.
WORK
Peter's work can be divided in 3 parts:
Varisound: Mixing Bands and providing Live show support
Masterclaes: Coaching Sound engineers, Producers and Musicians
Peter Claes: The Noise Abatement Consultant
Varisound
Varisound is the company name under which all sound related activities happen.
Either Live, Studio (Recording and mixing) or the rentall of equipment, sales and repair of new and vintage sound equipment, they all reside under the Varisound flag.
MasterClaes®
MasterClaes® was founded in 2015 when Peter decided to take teaching to another level.
After giving Basic courses in sound techniques for MOD and VDAB for 15 years, it was time to step up the game.
MasterClaes'es Mixing, Advanced Mixing, 1-on-1 Mixing, Compressors, FX, Mixing in the Box for Musicians, Microphones and Live sound Automation are the courses given.
More than 500 attendees have taken these courses over the past 4 years.

Peter is also a higly respected Noise Abatement Consultant. Working for different government agencies over the past 10 years, he has helped reduced many complaints to zero by optimising sound systems.
